What’s in Season?
In a lot of other parts of the world, outside of big cities, people eat what foods are in season. Here in the U.S. we are used to having any food at our disposal at any time of year. However, this is not the most sustainable method of eating. Foods that are not in season have to be grown in other parts of the world, and shipped here, usually in a very energy intensive way (considering production, chemicals used, packaging, labor, transportation, preservation techniques, etc.).
